Monica Getz – Help­ing oth­ers is what she is all about.

For over thirty years, Mon­ica Getz has been in­stru­men­tal in serving on numerous non-profit organizations, such as the Swedish Coun­cil of Al­co­holism, Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence Hot­line, Na­tional Coun­cil on Al­co­holism and locally, has led the River­towns League of Women Vot­ers and the Earth So­ci­ety Foun­da­tion.

Recently, she has been involved with The Mis­sion of the Coali­tion for Fam­ily Jus­tice, a vol­un­teer staffed non-profit that iden­tifies prob­lems in the di­vorce and fam­ily court sys­tems. The organization ad­vo­cates for sys­temic changes in or­der to make the courts more ac­count­able and af­ford­able. They pro­vide vic­tims and chil­dren in­volved in do­mes­tic vi­o­lence sit­u­a­tions with cri­sis in­ter­ven­tion, in­for­ma­tion, sup­port, le­gal ac­cess and ad­vo­cacy.
